GROUNDHOG DAY - RESULTS

Punxsutawney Phil bit again last night, and HARD, as the Celtics missed out on both Oden and Durant and fell to the farthest possible pick they could. This morning will include a familiar cocktail of strong coffee and rabies shots, holding out hope that we're not headed for the return of "gang green". Suddenly, Doc Rivers is begining to look more and more like ML Carr...

GROUNDHOG DAY

I'd like to preface this entry by saying I'm a bad blogger. This is not the first time I've had to say this, nor will it be the last. For whatever reason, try as I might, I can't seem to change my habits; they just keep repeating. Which brings us to the topic at hand: Groundhog Day (now THAT is a segway).

Much like Oliver Stones "Nixon" and "JFK", you may remember Harold Ramis' 1993 feature "Groundhog Day" as a chilling look into the depths of the human psyche and an expose in fear. Plus, it had Chris Elliott, who is awesome.

If nothing else, the film teaches us that Groudhog Day is more than just a yearly event. It is all-encompassing, sucking everything it encounters into its vacuous black hole of destruction and repetition, leaving it's victims left to wander the earth for the rest of their days in a constant state of despair and degradation like mindless zombies following a 24 hour bender at Robert Downy Jr.'s.

My point is that the Boston Celtics are experiencing their own version of G-Day, where the Celts are Bill Murray, Tim Duncan is Punxsutawney Phil, and David Stern is Andie MacDowell
(mainly because he has nice legs).

Tonight, the Celtics have a chance to exercise their demons of the past decade and finally escape the dreaded monotony of the Groundhog Day. If they fail, it's 10 more years of winter and no dinner with David Stern.
