FANS OF LATE-90'S-STYLE TV NOSTALGIA REJOICE! James Van Der Beek, poster boy for melodramatic teen angst and surprisingly watchable high school football movies, is set to return to the medium that spawned his career: Newly-Pubescent Teenagers! Sorry, I mean TV!
According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer - the Nation's leading James Van Der Beek-related entertainment news source - the boy who stole many a undeveloped heart will soon be appearing in a RECURRING ROLE in NBC's [hit?] series, MERCY.
Da Beek is reportedly set to star as "Dr. Liam West, the new womanizing ICU chief who harbors a dark secret."
That dark secret? He still has feelings for Joey.
Also, the modifiers in the description of his role are somewhat dangling. I'm not sure if he will be replacing a previous womanizing ICU chief, or merely joining him. I'd think that having two ICU chiefs who are both womanizers might make things slightly crowded and competitive, but maybe that's how they get people to scream for Mercy (pun intended).
In any event, congratulations to Mr. Van Der Beek, as well as all the dedicated fans on the JVDB Board at Fan Forum.
