"Blonde over blue Your hands are cold, your eyes are fire Blonde over blue They shine as though you're burning inside"

Metaphorically, it would be easy to think that Mr. Joel were describing a ravishing blonde haired, blue eyed beauty, scored of course by an early 90's pop-piano tune. But instead, I choose to believe that everything Billy writes is, in fact, literal. Thus, I take this to be a song about a being with frozen hands, possibly encased in actual blocks of ice. At the same time, his/her eyes are LITERALLY on fire. The dramatic irony of this ballad is that he/she could thaw out his/her frozen hands with his/her fire-eyes. However, the coolness of the hands is the only thing that is able to regulate the fever that has overtaken his/her body. At the same time, if he/she were to attempt to extinguish the flames housed in its face, it would inevitably result in the gouging out of his/her own eyes, guaranteeing a lifetime of blindness.
This will probably be the storyline for the next episode of HEROS, although scored by a more contemporary pop-piano tune.
