In the 90's, HBO defined the life of the single woman living in Manhattan. This narrative captivated every girl I went to high school with, which in turn gave further aid to making high school terrible.
Today, HBO is defining the life of the single man living in Brooklyn, assuming every single man in Brooklyn is a struggling writer-turned-detective (which we are, at least in our own minds). If nothing else, this narrative is captivating the mid-twenties floaters, and making unemployment that much more enjoyable.
It's only fitting these two would be merged, like some stunning supernova adorned in a trench coat and manolo blahniks.
